LIBERAL STUDIES

What is Liberal Studies at Aamusted?

Liberal Studies is designed to cater to the different needs and interests of students. The programme is thus, instituted to provide students with the option to select, from among various themes and their respective courses, a course from a theme that is of interest to them. It is also to make it more relevant to the practical needs of students to enable them to address problems of everyday life. Students are, therefore, offered the opportunity to study something other than their disciplinary area. This is to enable students to familiarize themselves with some areas of the curriculum outside their academic departments. Finally, it is to provide thematic direction to research in the Centre and the two Interdisciplinary Studies departments in Kumasi and Mampong. It is envisaged that findings from such researches will eventually feed into the teaching of the programme on the various campuses
