SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
To be admitted to the BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme, candidates should have credit Passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in six(6) subjects comprising three(3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and three (3) elective science subjects: Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Applied Electricity/Applied Electronics.

Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry

BSc. Medical Laboratory Science

SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants To be admitted to the BSc. Medical Laboratory Science
programmes, candidates should have credit Passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in six(6) subjects comprising three(3) core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and three(3) elective subjects from the following: Chemistry, Elective Mathematics/Physics and Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry.

NB: Qualified applicants will be required to write an entrance examination and undergo a selection
interview on a date to be communicated later.

 

Department of Nursing

SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
To be admitted to the BSc. Nursing programme, candidates should have credit passes (A-D)/ (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and three (3) elective subjects: Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
NB: Qualified applicants will be required to write an entrance examination and undergo a selection

BSc. Chemistry

SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants To be admitted to the BSc. To be admitted to any of the the BSc. Mathematical Sciences programmes, candidates should have credit Passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three(3) core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated

BSc. Fire, Safety and Disaster Management

SSSCE/WASSCE candidates must possess credit passes (A-D)/ (A1-C6) in three (3) core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and three (3) elective science subjects from Physics, Elective
Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture/Forestry.

▪ Ordinary Level Certificate with passes (1 – 8) in at least five (5) subjects at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent including English Language and Modern Mathematics OR

▪ Ordinary Level Certificate with passes (1 – 8) in at least five (5) subjects at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent including English Language and Modern Mathematics OR

BSc. Hospitality Management

SSSCE/WASSCE candidates must possess credit Passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in three (3) Core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies and three (3) elective science subjects from the following; Science, General Arts, Home Economics, Business, Agriculture and Visual Art

from the following; Sciences, General Arts, Home Economics, Business, Agriculture and Visual Art.

BSc. Economics

To be admitted into the BSc. Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Programme, SSSCE/WASSCE candidates must possess credit passes (A-D)/(A1 – C6) in three (3) core subjects – English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, and any three (3) elective subjects in Economics and Elective Mathematics in addition to any one of the following elective subjects: Geography, Government, History, Accounting, Business Management and Costing. The overall aggregate for WASSCE applicants should be 36 or better and 24 or better for SSSCE applicants. OR

International Applicants with Passes in six subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
Other Qualifications: International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American Grade 13 Examinations and other external qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE ‘A’ Level.
NB: International students must submit their certificates to the National Accreditation Board (NAB)
for evaluation and attach the report (s) to the application form.

BSc. Agribusiness

To be admitted into the BSc. Agribusiness Programme, SSSCE/WASSCE candidates should have credit passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and any three (3) elective subjects in Science, General Agriculture, Business, General Arts, Home Economics and Visual Art.

Mature Applicants must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth. pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by the institution itself (English Language, Mathematics, and an Aptitude Test). possess any of the following:

BSc. Agricultural and Resource Economics

To be admitted into the BSc Agricultural and Resource Economics programme, SSSCE/WASSCE candidates should have credit passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and three (3) electives in Science/Agriculture subjects from Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry, Geography/Economics, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. OR

▪ Applicants with General Arts, Business, and Home Economics backgrounds with Geography/Elective
Mathematics/Economics and Biology/ Chemistry subjects are also eligible for admission. In addition,
SSSCE and WASSCE candidates should have at least a D and C6 in Social Studies. OR

▪ GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Applicants candidates with the requisite GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level qualifications
are eligible for admission into the BSc Agricultural and Resource Economics programme. Specifically,
candidates must possess at least credits in Core Mathematics, English Language, and General
Science/Agricultural Science, and pass in at least three subjects in the GCE ‘O’ level examinations; and
at least passes in four subjects including General Paper in the GCE ‘A’ level examinations. Candidates
in this category are eligible for admission into the appropriate level of the programme as determined by
the University’s Admission Committee. OR

▪ Foreign Applicants with required subjects for Sciences: English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics,
Biology/Agriculture, Physics and Chemistry plus a pass in one Arts subject. OR

▪ Other Qualifications: Other qualifications acceptable for consideration for admission include
International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American Grade 13 examinations and other external
qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels.

NB: International students must submit their certificates to the National Accreditation Board (NAB)
for evaluation and attach the report (s) to the application form.

BSc. Agriculture with options in:

o Animal Production
o Crop Production

SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
To be admitted into the BSc. Agriculture programme, SSSCE/WASSCE candidates should have credit passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) subjects; English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and three (3) elective in the following: Biology, Chemistry and Physics, or Elective Mathematics.

HOW TO COMPLETE THE ADMISSION PROCESS -MATURE APPLICANTS

All applicants are required to complete the online application registration at https://admissions.uenr.edu.gh/ using the Voucher Number and PIN. Preparatory Classes/Entrance Examination Applicants shall be invited to participate in mandatory preparatory classes to enable them to prepare adequately for the entrance examination. Applicants shall write the entrance examination (English Language, Mathematics and Aptitude Test) on a date to be specified after the close of sale of vouchers. Date for the Mature Entrance Examinations will be communicated to all applicants.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

All applicants are required to complete the online application registration at https://admissions.uenr.edu.gh/ using the Voucher Number and PIN. Two (2) copies of completed online application forms together with certified copies of certificates /result slips and copies of birth certificates (Not Returnable) are to be submitted by POST to

AWAITING STUDENT 2022 WASSCE CANDIDATES 

Final Year students who will be writing their WASSCE from August to October 2022 can also apply.
Such applicants must select “Awaiting Results” in place of the grade in the online application portal.
