NDC flagbearership race: Mahama meets vetting committee
On Monday morning, John Dramani Mahama, the former President of Ghana, attended a meeting with the party’s vetting committee in order to be vetted as a candidate for the NDC flagbearer position.
Accompanied by some party constituency executives and his supporters, the meeting took place at the party headquarters in Accra.
As the first of four aspirants to be vetted for the position, Mahama will be asked about his political beliefs and his vision for the party should he become its flagbearer.
On Tuesday, March 21, Mahama officially submitted his nomination form to enter the National Democratic Congress’ flagbearer race.
The forms were submitted on his behalf by a team led by the NDC’s Campaign Manager for the 2020 general elections, Professor Joshua Alabi.
While submitting the forms, Alabi encouraged NDC delegates to give Mahama a 99 percent endorsement to become the party’s flagbearer. Other candidates in the race include Kwabena Duffuor, former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Krobeah Asante, and Kojo Bonsu.
