The registration process involves providing personal information, selecting preferred examination centers, choosing the subjects to be taken, and paying the required fees. Once registered, private candidates are expected to prepare for the examination on their own, using resources such as textbooks and past questions.

The WASSCE for private candidates is usually held in February/March of each year, and results are released in May/June. Private candidates who pass the examination are awarded the West African Senior School Certificate, which is recognized by academic institutions and employers across the West African region.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR 2023 NOVDEC REGISTRATION

Visit the WAEC website at www.waecdirect.org.
Click on the “WASSCE for Private Candidates” link on the homepage.
Read the information provided on the page carefully and click on the “Start Here” button to begin your registration.
Fill in your personal details, including your full name, date of birth, and contact information.
Select the subjects you want to take from the list of available subjects. You can choose a maximum of nine subjects.
Choose your preferred examination center from the list of available centers.
Upload a scanned copy of your passport photograph, which must meet the specified requirements.
Review your registration details and make any necessary corrections.
Pay the required registration fee using a valid debit or credit card.
Print out your registration confirmation page, which will contain your examination number and other relevant details.

 11th May – 27th July, 2023, Registration and payment
 28th – 31st July, 2023, Payment for normal registration only
