Attention WASSCE Candidates: Important Information to Keep in Mind for the 2023 Exam

The 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) has been scheduled to take place between July 31st and September 26th, 2023. However, the official timetable for the exam is yet to be released.

The candidates who sat for the WASSCE last year performed exceptionally well, with outstanding results across all Senior High Schools.

Ghanaian candidates faced significant challenges during the 2022 WASSCE due to having been out of school for an entire year. As the baton is passed on to the next group of students, those who will be taking the 2023 WASSCE should consider the following before the end of 2022:

  1. Show determination and dedication

Success requires dedication and determination. Although the WASSCE may seem daunting, rest assured that many before you have gone through it. They’ve all experienced the hard work, the struggles, the late nights, the rote memorization, and the worry and anxiety.

In addition, failing to perform well in your WASSCE exams could prevent you from pursuing further education at the tertiary level, potentially requiring you to retake the exams the next year.

I encourage all prospective 2023 WASSCE candidates to be more motivated than ever, staying up to date and devoting ample time to their studies.

Remember, without dedication, you won’t leave a lasting impact.

  1. Create a Schedule

Planning is crucial for success in life, and just like in RME in JHS where you wisely planned how to spend money, creating a budget is the key to managing your finances. Similarly, in academics, it’s essential to create a personal timetable and stick to it without getting distracted.

  1. Get Sufficient Rest

Aspiring candidates, it’s important to prepare well and get enough sleep before taking your WASSCE exams, or else you’ll be exhausted. Trust me on this.

It’s important to take breaks and prioritize your health while studying. Passing the exam requires more than just studying and books.

Avoid procrastination, as it can steal your valuable time. With only a few months left until the 2023 WASSCE, it may seem like you have plenty of time, but time flies quickly.

Don’t delay your studying and make sure to utilize your time effectively. Do the right things at the right time.
