GES Announces Baseline Survey Workforce Initiative Programme

The Education Commission under the Ghana Education Workforce Initiative (GESWI) programme engaged Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) to develop a revised education workforce design for the service.
In a letter, Ms. Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, AG. Director, HRMD for AG. Director-General said the design is meant to develop a strategic approach and practical tools for education workforce planning and deployment to manage Ghana’s education workforce.

Phases of GES Baseline Survey Workforce Initiative Programme

According to GES, the Baseline Survey Workforce Initiative Programme consists of various phases of which phase one of it was executed from January 2019 to June 2020 and resulted in a co-design of a new organizational structure to improve the workforce with focused execution of roles and continuous monitoring and evaluation.
Ms. Angela Frimpomaa explained that, phase two of the programme is a series of engagements leading to the implementation of the programme.

 

 

Leadership Engagement and Workshop

For the success of the programme, a leadership engagement and workshop were organized from 5th December, 2022 – 15th December, 2022 to delve more into the programme and make solid submissions for the way forward.

 

Progress of GES Baseline Survey Workforce Initiative Programme

In view of this, a baseline survey is being conducted to help gather information from teachers which will help improve the next phase of the programme.

 

 

GES explained that, “Teachers participation is very important since they are major stakeholders and will help improve the Ghana Education Workforce Initiative (GESWI) Programme.”
GES has therefore urged all Regional Directors to share the link with all District/Municipal/Metro Directors of Education to further share on all teacher platforms.

Deadline for GES Baseline Survey Workforce Initiative Programme

The deadline slated for the Ghana Education Workforce Initiative (GESWI) programme is Tuesday, 27th December, 2022.
All teachers are encouraged to participate in this survey to chalk the expected outcome because it is meant to develop a strategic approach and practical tools for education workforce planning and deployment to manage Ghana’s education workforce.
