GES Announces New Vacation Date For SHS 1 Students In Double Track Schools

The vacation date for form one students in double track schools has been revised by the Ghana Education Service. Originally, SHS 1 students were scheduled to commence their vacation on 13th April 2023.

However, due to the upcoming Easter celebration, GES has adjusted the vacation date for these students. As per the latest announcement by the Ghana Education Service, all form one students in double track senior high schools will now begin their vacation on Thursday, 6th April 2023.

The National Service Scheme guarantees the provision of personnel allowance.

MANAGEMENT ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT ON MONDAY.

On Monday, Management issued a statement to remind Heads of all Senior High Schools/Senior High Technical Schools that students should go on break starting from Thursday, April 6, 2023, for the Easter Holidays.

Additionally, Management wants Heads of Second Cycle Schools operating under the Transitional Calendar to note that SHS One (1) students are expected to continue their vacation until their scheduled re-opening in June 2023.

Regional Directors have been instructed through this letter to ensure that Heads of Second Cycle Schools in their respective regions comply with these directives to ensure a smooth running of the academic year. Management is counting on their usual cooperation.

The 2023 Transitional Academic Calendar for Double Track Senior High Schools (SHS) states that Form Threes who began their academic year on January 10, 2023, will take a break on April 05, 2023, as originally scheduled.

Similarly, Form Twos in the same category who are currently on break will resume their studies on April 11, 2023, and take a break on June 1, 2023, as per the initial plan. These dates remain unchanged.
