The passing of a student is always a difficult and painful experience, and it is with great sadness that I must share the news of Elizabeth Boateng’s passing. Elizabeth was a third-year Law student at UCC, and she was found deceased in her dorm room on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
In a statement from the Faculty of Law, dated April 21, 2023, and signed by the Dean, it was announced that “Level 300 student Elizabeth Boateng has passed away.” The statement further acknowledged the pressure felt by students at the Law School and offered support for impacted individuals. “Any impacted students can get help from counselors,” the statement read. “The Dean of Students’ office can connect you with the right individual at the Counseling Center if you need the assistance of this kind.”
While no information was provided regarding the cause of Ms. Boateng’s passing, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
