An unofficial announcement has surfaced regarding the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), hinting at a substantial modification to the exam’s structure.

As per an unverified message circulating across various social media platforms, the forthcoming BECE is purportedly undergoing a significant transformation, focusing exclusively on five subject areas.

The message suggests that this revelation was made by the Deputy Director-General of Schools and Instructions (DDG-Schools) during a training session for District Test Study Teams (DTSTs) held in Kumasi.

The five subject areas outlined in the message are:

a. Science

b. Mathematics

c. English Language

d. General Paper

e. Ghanaian Language

Among these subjects, a noteworthy change is the incorporation of the Computing subject within the Science category.

Additionally, the General Paper is reported to encompass Social Studies, Religious and Moral Education (RME), and Career Technology.
