VICE CHANCELLOR’S SCHOLARSHIP FOR AAMUSTED STUDENTS APPLY NOW

The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has instituted a partial Scholarship Scheme for brilliant but needy students from less-endowed families.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of AAMUSTED, Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo, announced this at the University’s Virtual Matriculation Ceremony for the first batch of 7,055 fresh undergraduate and postgraduate students on February 26, 2021.

He said the circulation of application forms would soon start for the qualified candidates to enroll in the Scheme.

He indicated the University’s empathy for students who had to pursue education under dire conditions. In that regard, he assured them that AAMUSTED would continue to work hard to improve and expand the scholarship scheme to cater to more disadvantaged and the vulnerable in the University.

Meanwhile, he encouraged students of the University with financial challenges to take advantage of the enhanced Students’ Loan Trust Fund to improve their financial situation while on their respective programmes.

He reminded the students of the havoc that the COVID-19 Pandemic was wreaking on the country and abroad and, therefore, asked them to adhere to all relevant directives – regular washing of hands, wearing nose masks and observing social distancing.

He said the University had instituted deliberate measures to forestall the spread of the disease on campus. Among them, he said, is the provision of adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) at vantage points on campus and therefore encouraged the students to use them maximally and responsibly.

He opined that admission into tertiary education institution is an opportunity that sets the tone for the professional career of a person. In that regard, he urged the students not to waste time and energy on unproductive matters while in AAMUSTED but focus on the quality training that the University would give them.

Among the few selected representatives of groups admitted to the New Auditorium at the Kumasi Campus of AAMUSTED for the Virtual Ceremony were the Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. James Kagya-Agyemang; Acting Registrar, Mr. Michael Kofi Adu; and Acting Director of Finance, Mr. Geoffrey Mensah, among other Management Members
