The Ghana Education Service wishes to invite nominations of teachers and workers for best teacher/worker award consideration. Respective authorities are entreated to submit the names, category of award, qualification, rank, years in the municipal or district and years in the present school or institution to the Director.

Nominees shall go through series of activities to be adjudged best teacher or worker. Below are the dates for the various activities:

Closing date for the submission of nominee list- 8th September, 2022

Interview – 14′ September, 2022

Lesson observation: – 20th to 22nd September, 2022

Kindly take note of the dates and act accordingly

CRITERIA FOR THE SELECTION OF AWARD WINNERS AND CATEGORY OF AWARDS

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL(SHS)

All heads of department shall nominate two people who will go through an interview process to be adjudged the best. There are maximum of 14 departments and so it will be, 14*2*3=84 with a department having 6 nominees where 3 would be selected as first, second and third runners up
Heads of SHS shall nominate one person each as the best worker for the school to be awarded under the non-teaching staff

BASIC SCHOOLS

SISOs shall nominate one teacher per a subject wo will contest with other teachers from other circuit for the first, second and third runner up positions through interview, lesson observation, involvement in school and community activities
SISOs together with the head teachers shall nominate the best teacher for their circuit, the process shall consider the teacher’s commitment to duty, punctuality and regularity etc.
Head teachers shall also be nominated by the circuit as the best head teacher for the circuit who will contest for the position of first, second and third runner up
SISOs together with head teachers shall nominate one person for KG, Lower Primary and Upper Primary

All departments’ heads shall nominate one officer from that department to be considered for the award
There shall be an overall coordinator for the year review
There shall also be a recognition awards for outstanding officers both present and retired
Decisions on awards winners from the directorate shall be taken and considered by management

Note

Nominees must be teachers or worker who have been in Ghana Education Service for at least Five (5) years or more
